Jones Joseph R. Jones, Jr., age 92, of Columbus, died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Riverview Hospital, Noblesville, IN. Retired from Insurance Services Office. Member Crestview Presbyterian Church where he was a trustee and served on the Session. World War II U.S. Army Veteran, served in the South Pacific as a First Lieutenant, Field Artillery. Joe was a member of the North High School Polar Bear Alumni Assn, Virginia Military Institute Alumni Assn. and the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association. Preceded in death by parents Joseph R. Nellie (Hamilton) Jones, Sr., wife Janet Jones, sister Mary Eleanor Smith and granddaughter Gretchen Lynn Geyer. Survived by children, Stephanie (Joseph) Geyer, Julia (Scott) Andrews, and Andrew (Barbara) Jones; grandchildren, Daniel (Stephanie) Geyer, Mark Geyer, Phillip (Courtney) Geyer, Jennilyn (Andrew) Keinsley, Kelly (Gregory) Scibona, Collin (Amy) Andrews, Meredith (Scott) Edwards, Joseph E. Jones; and three great grandchildren. Joe was a true gentleman and loved everyone he met. He enjoyed traveling, playing poker and bridge, photography, golf and was a huge Buckeye fan. Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio. Carol Bogaards officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.
