Emler David Emler, age 67, born in Conesville, OH on August 27, 1946, where he lived to the age of 18, passed July 29, 2014 in Westerville, OH. Dave was Scout Master with BSA Troop 318 in Delaware, OH. He retired from Ohio Bell in 1977 and from Union Memorial Hospital in 2008. Dave was passionate about reading books and passed this love on by tutoring 2nd graders in reading. Preceded in death by parents Roland and Marjorie (Balo) Emler, and sisters Martha Ryan and Ellen Kay Daner. Survived by wife, Laura; son, Walker; daughter, Brooke (Greg) Wilming; step-son, Ian (Elizabeth Fry) Jones. Also survived by grandchildren, Madison and Anna; brother, Mike (Shannon) Emler; niece Kecia (Mark) Roberts; along with, great-niece Jordan and great-nephew Tyler. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local school library. Family will receive friends at SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOMES, Clintonville Chapel, 4341 N. High St, on Saturday, August 9 from 1-2 p.m., when a memorial service will follow. Rev. Joel Baer officiating.
