Mary Alice Bower Obituary
Bower Mary Alice Bower, age 96, of Reynoldsburg, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014. Mary was born in Coal Grove, Ohio, daughter of the late Joseph and Amy Tordiff. Also preceded in death by her beloved husband Clarence Bower, daughter Trudy Mae Bower, and siblings Charles, Roy and Joseph Tordiff and Gertrude Steele. Mary attended The Ohio State University and worked as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell, White Cross and Riverside Hospitals. Mary was a patient, determined, and creative woman. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Eastern Star, Moose Lodge and Riverside United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting, gardening and fishing. Most of all however, Mary enjoyed being a mother and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her children, Dian (Jim) Kolis, Clarence (Lee) Bower II, Mary Alice (Jeff) Toliver, and Tim (Dana) Bower; grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Kern, Stephanie (William) Clemmer, Seth (Heather) Bower, Amy Kolis, Abi (Tim) Kasberg, Clarisse Bower, Michael (Whitney) Toliver, Camille Bower, Anna Bower, and Grace Bower; five great grandchildren; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday. Interment Dublin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Ridge Retirement Community, English Garden Unit, 2225 Taylor Park Dr., Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068.
