Charles E. Evarts Obituary
Evarts Charles E. Evarts, born December 21, 1948; died August 3, 2014. Chuck was born at Loretto Hospital in Chicago to parents Chrystal M. and Charles Evarts (since deceased) and he moved to Galena, Ohio at avery early age. He lived a rural area on a farm where had access to many farm animals such as sheep, goats, rabbits, horses, etc. He raised rabbits with his older brother and he even had part ownership in pet pig "tommy" with his other brother. He helped his dog "rusty" give birth to 12 puppies of whom he was able to sell off. (with a little help from both his Dad and Mom) He was a horseman, as well, when riding his horse, "Helen" (with a little help from his Dad) He helped his mom with gardening and there were many other things to do on their 80 acre farm. Chuck moved back to Chicago with his mother and went to school at Saint Lucy's Grammar School and graduated from Weber High School. He had formed a band for a brief period of time and played the drums and trumpet. He was an avid reader of history, and a very good artist and loved doing cartoons. He lived with his mother, grandmother, and his two brothers Tom and Michael. Later he moved to Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. where he worked in the cleaning business for several years. After the passing of his grandmother and the marriages of his two brothers he moved to Columbus with his mother to be with his older brother Michael and his wife. He was employed at several area restaurants (Schmitts and Bill Knapp's) and ended with employment for many years at the Clarion Hotel as a maintenance man. He then retired and stayed at Oakhurst Place Retirement Center in Delaware, Ohio. He is preceded in death by brother Tom. Surviving relatives are brother, Michael T. Passarella (Martha) Columbus, Ohio; and nephews, Michael P. Passarella (Ohio) and Anthony Passarella of Chicago, Ill; sister-in-law, Lillian Passarella; and niece, Denise (Horner) of Illinois. Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Rd., Columbus, OH 43220. Fr. Nicholas Droll, Celebrant.
