Wise Harold Wise, Jr., 75, departed this life on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. U.S. Army Veteran. Retired from Roadway Express after 26 years of service. He enjoyed playing basketball, football and was an avid bowler. He played semi professional football in Toledo, Ohio. Preceded in death by father Harold Wise, Sr., mother Robert Wise, grandsons Devon Wise and Melvin Revier. Survived by wife, Velma Wise; children, Gordon Wise, Robert Rise, Robin Foust, Sharon Sellers, Dr. James Rankins, Byron Rankins; brothers, Rev. Fayne (Paula) Wise, Ean Wise; sister, Patricia Ann Wise; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends, Roscoe Dawkins, James Massey and Clarence Casey. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2014 in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street, where the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of service. Rev. Fayne Wise, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family have requested memorial contributions be made to St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 639 E. Long Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
