William "Bill" Phillips Obituary
Phillips William "Bill" Phillips, age 88, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and son by his side. Bill was an only child. He born on November 4, 1925 to the late William F. and Doris (Burwell) Phillips Meehan. Raised in Columbus by his mother and step-father, Doris and Martin Meehan. Bill graduated from West High School and The Ohio State University. He was a Veteran of WWII, US Army Air Force as a member of the flight crew on a B29 Bomber. He loved to engage in conversations about current events and what was going on around him. He never knew a stranger and always had something positive to say. Preceded in death by his parents and step-father. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Mildred (Adams) Phillips and son, William Martin "Billy" Phillips; friends, Laura and Patty Stein. Family will receive close friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St. Graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2014 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Oak Hill, OH.
