DeWitt Catherine M. 'Kay' DeWitt, 89, of Zanesville, died peacefully at 9:09 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Genesis Morrison House Hospice in Zanesville, following a brief illness. She was born Friday, September 12, 1924 in Jersey City, NJ, the daughter of William Reilly and Mary (Prettyman) Reilly and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Kay is survived and missed by her three children, Don (Margaret) DeWitt of Columbus, Bob (Connie) DeWitt of Hilliard and Dianne (Mark) Ryan of Plano, TX; her grandchildren, Sara (Jimmy) DeTemple of Hilliard, Neil (Ashley) DeWitt of Clintonville, Abbie Ryan of Houston, TX, Will Ryan of Houston, TX and Maddy Ryan of Dallas, TX; step-grandchildren, Amanda (Mark) McGee of Clintonville, Aubrey (Todd) Miller Raleigh, NC and Allison (Jeff) Zapor of Royal Oak, MI; her great-grandchildren, Tori, Ben and Jessica DeTemple, Riley and Grant McGee, Ava and Vincent Miller and Victor and Quinten Zapor. In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her sister Margaret, brother Joseph, and former husband Don. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the HILLIS, COMBS & NESTOR FUNERAL HOME, 925 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a Christian Vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 11, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 Main Street, Zanesville. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
