Rose John E. Rose Jr. was 67. He was born December 11, 1946. He left this earth August 6, 2014 to join his loving wife of over 40 years Martha F. Rose, mother Bertha Newlon, father-in-law Ralph Elliott, brothers Bill Rose, Randy Elliott, Tom Jones and sister-in-law Cathy Elliott. His soul continues on through those of us left behind in the lessons we've learned from him. Material objects only hold the value you place in them. "Don't buy that. I can find it in the trash." Let someone you nearly know drive your new car across the country to visit their ailing mother because "it's just a car and theirs won't make it." Feed people."If you leave here hungry, it's your own fault" was said at his home 1,000's of times. Take time to teach a kid to fish or build a bridge. You learn patience and the relationships are priceless. Visit your elderly relatives and give them soda or ice cream even if the physician says no, because "she wants to have it." Most of all, help people. Even if they don't ask. Family, friend, homeless, junkies, everyone. Your soul may just touch theirs. Forgive them if they hurt you. But choose to love others. Know God is with you. No matter how you connect with him or what you call him. Make your own peace with God. No one knows the pain another soul carries or how much it can take. John "Pop" leaves behind two cherished daughters, Stacey (Larry) Weiner, and Heidi (Chris Young); five grandchildren, Brittany Young (Erik), Mathew Weiner, Stephanie Weiner (Anthony), Johnathan Weiner and his "precious little man", Nolan Young; two great grandsons. Micaijah and Christopher. His beloved fiancé. Trish Tunstal (daughter, Melissa); mother-in-law, Ila Elliott; sister, Pam Rose; brother, Larry Rose; nieces and nephews, Randy, Jesse, Janel, Brian, Tracie, Tom, Mike, Joe, Lisa, Tracy, Margie and Larry. Special friends, Dianne Jones and the Baumgardners. Along with do many more. In lieu of flowers, please provide a random act of kindness to a stranger. And then smile at the Heavens. John will be smiling back. Graveside service will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery Monday, August 11, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. followed by a celebration of life party. Everyone is welcome to bring a covers dish to the celebration. The family is being served by the RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME.
