Gianvito Barbara Cecelia (Clark) Gianvito, 76, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the Pickering House in Lancaster, surrounded by her caring family. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond "Toad" and Cecelia "Sis" (McGreevy) Clark, sister Suzanne, brothers John, Fred, Mike, Bill, and Jim Clark. Barbara is survived by her brothers, Henry "Harry" Clark of Junction City, and Richard "Dick" Clark of Tampa, Fla; sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Clark of Junction City, Helen Clark of Lancaster, Marge Clark of Painesville, and Glenda Clark of Jasper, Georgia; seven step children; several step grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, especially her niece Therese Kirchgessner who has been her loving caregiver for the past 14 years. Barbara was a graduate of St. Aloysius Academy in New Lexington, Ohio. She retired from A.E.P. She enjoyed living on Buckeye Lake where she was a member of the V.F.W. in Millersport. She moved to Lancaster in 2005, making many new friends. In her early years, she loved to travel, bowl, golf, dance, and was a great joke teller. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 14 at 1 p.m. at St. Patrick Church in Junction City with Fr. Jim Csaszar as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, August, 13 from 12Noon-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. at SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME in Lancaster, where a rosary will take place at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Church, St. Mark Church, or to FairHoPe Hospice/Pickering House.
