Lammers Elizabeth "Elli" Lammers, age 79, of Groveport, Ohio, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at Mount Carmel East Hospital with family by her side. Elli was born in Emsdetten, Germany on October 28, 1934. She was married to William "Willi" Lammers on April 13, 1957. In 1958 she ventured with her husband to the United States to start a new life in a new country. Elli worked at the downtown Lazarus Store for 9 years. After the birth of her son Roger in 1966, she stayed home to take care of him. Later Elli also worked for the Old World Bakery. She was a former member of the Germania and Columbus Maennerchor. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to everyone. Her grandchildren William and Erika will miss their Oma dearly. She was a blessing to us all, the nicest, kindest person you could ever know. She was preceded in death by her parents Elisabeth and Klemens Haarkotter and brothers Heinz and Josef. Elli is survived by her husband of 57 years, Willi Lammers; son, Roger; grandchildren, William and Erika Lammers; sisters in Germany, Mariechen, Hilde and Anni; brother in Germany, Franz; sister-in-law, Erna; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins in Germany, Newark and Lancaster Ohio. The family will receive friends Monday, August 18, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME, 587 Main Street in Groveport. Vigil service Monday at 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 5684 Groveport Rd., Groveport with Fr. Richard Metzger Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church in memory of Elli. Share with family at www.orwoodyard.com.
