Selzer Gladys Camilla Selzer, age 89, of Canal Winchester, OH, died on Monday, August 18, 2014. She was born to the late Austin and Mary Zwayer on September 27, 1924. Gladys graduated from Canal Winchester High School in 1942. She was a member of Lithopolis United Methodist Church where she participated in the Dorcas Circle and Bell Choir. Gladys and John both loved to dance. They met at Jimmy Rawlins Studio during WWII. Orbiting Squares dance club had a special place in their hearts. They met many friends and made special memories in their 15 years with the club. Gladys clogged with the award-winning Clog 4 U Cloggers in Austria, Branson, the Kennedy Center, Disney World and many other venues. Gladys and John loved to travel. They made many good friends while traveling. Gladys loved flowers and watching goldfinches and humming birds at the feeder. She made wonderful pickles and pies. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John H. Selzer, sister Frances Raney, brother Paul Zwayer and two daughters-in-law Patty and Ronda Selzer. Survivors include her five children, Sharon (Frank) Ventresca, Rick (Marsha) Selzer, Ron (Earlene) Selzer, Steve Selzer and Greg Selzer; numerous beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and one brother, Carl Zwayer. Friends and family may visit the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, OH 43110 on Friday, August 22, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Ken Marckel will be held at Lithopolis United Methodist Church, 80 Market St., Lithopolis, OH 43136 on Saturday, August 23, at 11 a.m. with an hour of visitation prior.
