Mathews Frances M. Mathews, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2014 after 98 years of a very fulfilled life. Preceded in death by husband of 70 years, Ralph, son John, parents William and Laura Schirtzinger, sisters Bertha Stischok, Ada O'Brien, Eva Demattillo and Iva Dickson, son-in-law Robert Richmond and daughter-in-law Marsha E. Mathews. Survived by daughters, Dolores Richmond and Mary (Jim) Jones; sons, Ralph L. Jr. (Mary Kay), Joseph (Barbara), James, and Michael (Barb) Mathews; brother, William Schirtzinger. Frances was blessed with 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and numerous grand-dogs and cats. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mt. Carmel Hospice, LifeCare Alliance and especially Diane Rogers for her many years of care and support. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. BROAD ST., where a Rosary will be held at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 1300 Urban Dr. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
