Mathews Frances M. Mathews, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2014 after 98 years of a very fulfilled life. Preceded in death by husband of 70 years, Ralph, son John, parents William and Laura Schirtzinger, sisters Bertha Stischok, Ada O'Brien, Eva Demattillo and Iva Dickson, son-in-law Robert Richmond and daughter-in-law Marsha E. Mathews. Survived by daughters, Dolores Richmond and Mary (Jim) Jones; sons, Ralph L. Jr. (Mary Kay), Joseph (Barbara), James, and Michael (Barb) Mathews; brother, William Schirtzinger. Frances was blessed with 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and numerous grand-dogs and cats. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mt. Carmel Hospice, LifeCare Alliance and especially Diane Rogers for her many years of care and support. Donations may be made to , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. BROAD ST., where a Rosary will be held at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 1300 Urban Dr. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
