Pertz William E. "Bill" Pertz, of Dublin, OH and originally from Cleveland, OH went to be with our Lord on Friday, August 22, 2014. Born in 1930 in Cleveland to the late William and Irene Pertz, he was a graduate of Cleveland John Adams High School. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Barbara; his son, Jeffrey (Viera) Pertz; his daughter, Kim (Gregory) Martin; his grandchildren, Matthew (Sandra) Pertz, Jennifer Pertz, Melissa (Steven) Jackson, Michael Pertz, Allison Martin and Brandon Martin; and his great-grandchildren, Shayla Pertz, Tyson Pertz, William Pertz and Lily Martin. Bill served in the United States Navy (1946-1951) and the United States Army (1952-1954) in the Korean Conflict. He was a 50-year member of Lyndhurst Lodge #508, F&AM, where he served as a candidate coach for many years. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason A.A.S.R. and a member of Al Koran Shrine Temple, Cleveland. Bill was in the employ of Cleveland Bottle & Supply Co. as a salesman and then President in 1978 and owner with his wife Barbara until his retirement. They moved to Columbus in 1993. Bill enjoyed golf as a member of the Walden Golf Club in Aurora, OH where he resided for 12 years. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. MONDAY, AUGUST 25, 2014 at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, OH 43065 (614)-792-1471 where funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with The Reverend Stephen Smith, officiating. (The funeral home is located on W. Olentangy St./Powell Rd./SR 750 1/4 mile east of Sawmill Parkway.) Entombment will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park, Lewis Center, OH.
