Hill James Thomas Hill, Sr., 78, born March 6, 1936, passed into eternal life on August 28, 2014. A U.S. Army veteran, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1996. A longtime member of Pilgrim Baptist Church, James was a natural tenor and sang in the choir. Always the life of the party, he often told jokes and tales about everything. His favorite words were, "I did it my way." Predeceased by parents George and Leanna Hill. Survived by wife, Christine G. Hill; sons, James T. Hill, Jr. and Tyson L. Tucker; daughters, Zina L. Hill-Ford (John Sr.) of Charleston, WV, and Debra Willis (Paul Sr.) of Chicago, IL; eight siblings; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life 12Noon Friday, September 5, 2014 at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 1080 E. Broad St., where his family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the start of service.
