WOW the month or November is always a rough 1 because literally everything is a reminder of your passing. How did 4 years go by already? This is the 4th anniversary of your celebration of life and a final farewell from so many people who knew and loved you. It wasn't goodbye for me though rather a see ya later. God's Word says "In my Father's house there are many rooms..." Just hold my spot til I get there. Maybe we can have rooms right down the hall from each other like we did in the 70s. You are Never far from my mind and heart and I can't wait to see you again. I love much and miss you more than words can say. Ttyl big brother

Wow..... its going on 2 1/2 months now and it is still so hard to believe. I come to read the obituary of someone else and can't help but to look yours up. Derek, words really can't express how much I miss you and love you but I know I will see you again 1 day. To all of you have have expressed your love & sympathies with heart felt prayers and well wishes, Thank You So Much! It is awesome to see how many lives he touch. It is highlighted here but it was Wonderfully Stated & Expressed by the more than 1200 people who came to his wake & funeral. A beautiful send ogf for a beautiful soul! RIH big brother Derek & I see you when I get there. Until then I will do my best to keep Kennedi close and love her even more. I LOVE YOU!

I was fortunate to meet Derek through his sister, my wonderful friend, Monica. One thing that was so striking were those big beautiful smiles they both have. Their smiles made the room glow like a ray of sunshine. Derek will be missed. My love, thoughts and prayers to the family.

I met Derek in my Freshman year at Kent State University in 1987. I can truly say we have been friends for 29 years. Derek was an awesome human being. With a soul to match his smile. I have prayed for understanding and send all my love and prayers to the entire Roberts family. Derek was a good man, raised right and walked the walk that he talked. He was funny, loving and caring. I will miss my friend and keep him forever in my heart. He loved Kennedi and I pray she will be surrounded with love and light in the days to come.

I am absolutely shocked and saddened at the loss of my Bulldog Brother Charles Derek Roberts. I played Varsity Basketball at South High. Derek was on the JV team so we often went head to head in practice. He was also my teammate on that 1983 Track & Field team whose school records still stand.
