Joseph Zynda Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 29 to Dec. 30, 2016.
Zynda Joseph Arthur Gerald Zynda, age 37, of Lewis Center passed away suddenly on December 27, 2016. He was born on January 17, 1979 in Akron, OH and is survived by his loving wife, Rachael; children, Joey Jr. (6) and Jackson (5); parents, Rose (Tim) Eggert and Gerald (Kim) Zynda; step sisters, Megan (Aaron) Chicatelli, Erin Eggert, Carrie Metsch; step brother, Jeremy (Mary) Metsch; sisters in law, Addie (Kyle) Flood, Megan Bartlett (Fiancé Michael Tran). Joe graduated from Akron Firestone High School (1997), received his BSN from The Ohio State University College of Nursing (2002) and went on to receive his graduate degree in Masters in Science of Nursing from the University of Akron (2009) and then became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. He was employed at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center first as an RN (2002-09) and then as a CRNA (2009-2016). He was a devoted husband and father to his two sons and his family came first. He enjoyed date nights with Rachael and took every opportunity to share his love of sports with his boys including watching and attending the Cleveland Cavs, Ohio State football, basketball and hockey games and playing basketball in the driveway. Joe had a huge personality and always drew people into his circle for both friendship and counsel. His network of friends started early and lasted throughout the changes of their lives. Once Joe befriended you, you were a friend for life. He worked hard, played hard and enjoyed life to the fullest, leaving this world with no regrets. Friends may call Sunday 1-4 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street (1/2 mile south of 270) and Monday 1hr prior at church. Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at NORTHWEST CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 1340 Fishinger Road, Columbus OH 43221. Visit www.schoedinger.com to send online condolences to the family.

I knew Joe first by working in the SICU pharmacy when he was a CRNA at OSU Main Campus. Later when I transferred to East, and years went by before East would have an OR pharmacy technician. When it finally came to pass, I was telling him that I would get to work with him again. It is very sad that he is gone and he will be greatly missed.

I knew Joe thru Rachael as we have worked together for more than 10 years. I have watched as the two of them built their beautiful life and family. I admired and respected their commitment to one another while Joe lived away from home to finish his education. From day one I have noted Joe's pride in his beautiful ballerina wife. His love for his family was always unmistakably written all over his face and in his eyes. Thru the years I have admired how attentive Joe was of Rachael's needs. She would often talk about the sweet impromptu things he would do for she and the boys. Mike and I are so very sorry for your loss sweet Rachael. We know the love Joe provided you and the boys will be a steadfast foundation for the journey the three of you are now on.
May God Bless the precious Zynda's.

I am so saddened to read this. I met Joe in 2002 at OSUMC working in the surgical intensive care unit. He was a great coworker and always had a smile. Never saw him without one. He was always quick with a joke and making others laugh. He had a bigger than life personality. Saying prayers for his wife, kids, and family that the memories you have will help ease the pain and for God's grace to be with you.
