BOWERS James R. Bowers, 87, of Logan, passed away October 7, 2008 in Logan Health Care Center. He was born January 17 1921 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late James W. and Pearl L. Williams Bowers. He was married to Fanchion Woodard Bowers who survives. He was retired from General Electric in Columbus, was an Army Veteran of WW II, a former Perry Twp. Auxiliary Police officer, a member of Humboldt Lodge #476 F&AM, and a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus. He is survived by sons, Daniel Nelson Bowers and David Wayne (Julie) Bowers, all of Columbus; a step-son, Bruce Rheinscheld of Hillsboro; a step-daughter, Beulah (Gene) Rarick of Dayton; 6 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Audelene Bowers, a brother Wayne Bowers and a step-son William J. Rheinscheld. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the CARDARAS FUNERAL HOME, 183 E. Second St., Logan, Ohio with Rev. Ricci Arthur officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Military graveside service will be held at the cemetery.
