CAPRETTA A. Richard "Bud" Capretta, age 68, Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Mt. Carmel East. Graduate of Aquinas High School, Capital University and a member of The Delta Phi Alpha Honorary Fraternity. Attended Franklin University Law School, graduate of Ohio University Center for Court Administration, graduate fellow of The Institute for Court Management of the National Center for State Courts. Associated with USA-1 Real Estate for 18 years, as a realtor. Member of the Columbus Board of Realtors, Ohio Association of Realtors and The National Association of Realtors. Member of Tri-County Realty Association. Holds Accredited Buyer Representative Designation. Has served on various Columbus Board of Realtors committees. Retired after 40 years from the Franklin County Municipal Court, where he served as Courtroom Bailiff, First Small Claims Division Administrator, in Ohio and retired as Court Administrator. Lectured at the National Center for State Courts, Ohio Supreme Court Judicial College, Ohio Association for Court Administration, Ohio University Center for Court Administration, Columbus Police Department and Ohio State Highway Patrol Cadet Training Programs, Cleveland Municipal Court, Ohio State University Teachers Graduate Program, Ohio Dominican College Criminal Justice Program, Columbus State Community College, and several high schools and grade schools. Professional organizations included, The National Association for Court Management and The Ohio Association for Court Administration, having served as past president. At St. Philip the Apostle Church, he served as usher coordinator, liturgy committee, and finance committee member. At St. Philip's School he served as president of the school board and was founder and president of the Home and School Association. Active in St. Philip's Athletic Association as a board member and coached boys football and basketball and girls basketball and softball. Former counsel and basketball coach of Knights of Columbus Squires Youth Program. Former member of the Franklin County Republican Executive Screening Committee and Search and Development Committee. Member of Aquinas Alumni Association. Preceded in death by parents Candido "Connie" and Dominica "Minnie" Capretta. Survived by loving wife of 45 years, Nancy; daughters, Cara and Candace (David) Heichel; son, Chad (Lianna); grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, Elizabeth, Juliana, Meredith, Mary, Alexander, Rocco, and Isabella; brother, Pete (Nancy) Enis. Family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 S. High St. Prayer service 3:45 p.m. Friends and family will meet for Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Saturday at Pope John XXIII Church, Canal Winchester. PROCESSION WILL FORM AT THE CHURCH. Entombment St. Joseph Cemetery. Msgr. A. Anthony Frecker celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The or Mt. Carmel East Hospital Palliative Care.
