Barbara Huling Obituary

HULING Barbara Jean Huling, 89, of Columbus, passed away at Highbanks Care Center in Worthington, on June 29, 2010. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on July 3 in Union Cemetery. Barbara was born on September 19, 1930, in Marion, Ohio, to Nina Louise Huling and Jared Paul Huling. She grew up in Marietta, Ohio, where she graduated from Marietta College, becoming a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Xi Delta sorority. She worked at the State Highway Department in Marietta for 10 years before moving to Columbus, where she worked as an executive secretary at the Ranco Corporation for 30 years. After retirement she volunteered at the Red Cross and at WOSU for 14 years and remained an avid follower of Ohio State football. Survivors include a brother, John P. Huling and his wife, Mara of Westerville; a sister, Paulina Batterson of Columbia, Missouri; and a sister-in-law, Jeanne Huling of Delaware. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother Richard T. Huling. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice of Columbus, 6500 Busch Boulevard, Suite 210, Columbus, Ohio 43229. Arrangements by HILL FUNERAL HOME, Westerville.
