OHLINGER Mimi Ohlinger, 61, of Port Charlotte, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia and Columbus, Ohio passed away July 23, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 18, 1948, to the late Lloyd and Elizabeth Ohlinger in Columbus, Ohio. Mimi graduated from Marion Franklin High School, Columbus, Ohio, and attended the University of Pittsburg and Harvard University. She had a long career as a healthcare executive with Advantage Healthcare in Boston and J.E. Hanger Southeast in Atlanta. Mimi was Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, at J. E. Hanger Southeast before retiring in 1999. Her earlier career included 5 years as a Mary Kay Cosmetics Director. Mimi generously gave to "Feed The Children (USA)" and supported a child through "Save the Children" for many years. Recently, she spent many hours transporting and assisting the homeless at a local shelter. Survived by loving husband William (Frankie) Lawhorn; daughter, Kelly (Scott) Wright Forrester; sons, Mark (Carol) Lawhorn; Paul Lawhorn, Derek (Christal) Lawhorn; Grant (Abby) Lawhorn, all of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Teresa (Michael) Deep, of Hilliard, Ohio, Marcia (Parker) Little, of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Dempsey (Karen) Ohlinger, of Columbus, Ohio; nieces, Erica Lopp, Maria Exsentico, Lauren Armitage; nephew, Parker Little Jr; brothers-in-law, Jerry Lawhorn and Berry Lawhorn; nephews, Michael Lawhorn, James Lawhorn, John Lawhorn, Steve Lawhorn, Joey Lawhorn; niece, Michelle Lawhorn; grandchildren, Megan, Kiersten, Justin, Zachary, Aiden, Mya; two great-grandchildren; eight great- nephews; two great nieces. Mimi enjoyed ballroom dancing, music, playing piano, decorating her homes, long walks in nature and a leisure day at Schiller Park and German Village. She was positive, intelligent, strong, brave, and vibrant. She had a beautiful spirit that always brightened the day of anyone fortunate enough to come in contact with her. Mimi was, and will continue to be, a loving inspiration to her family and many friends who miss her immensely. Memorial services will be held at SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 229 East State Street, Columbus, Ohio, on August 7, 2010 at 1 p.m. Family and friends will gather at Lindeys, 169 E. Beck Street, Columbus, Ohio, at 3 p.m. for a celebration of Mimi's life. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Mimi to the Homeless Charity or Breast Cancer of donors choice.
