Gosh Pat,
I am just so sorry to see this name here. I check the hometown newspaper but never want to see any of my old friends.
I hardly know where to begin or what to say. This is just one person I needed to see again someday. Lt. Neff was such a good old boss! I haven't seen him since I left in 1990. I've sure shared the stories about back then though.
I hope someone wrote down all his funny sayings....I'd love to have a copy of them.....he always could make us laugh...but never cross him!! God bless him.
We did laugh and every day I looked forward to coming to work while those few years lasted in the old headquarters. It sure seemed like I was there lots longer than I was but not because they were not good times.
We just seem to expect everyone to remain the same until we see you again.
Lt. Neff sure left footprints on many of our hearts that passed through that personel office......whether he knew it or not...and his were mighty big ones.
Was he ever allowed to come in out of the garage and did you ever change that phone message we used to hear?
You all will have a celebration of his life. That's for sure.
I miss you, Pat, and at Parkview when I visit each time. I need to get in touch to see how these last 15 years have been.
I'll have to call you when we are home in August or write to my email...I'd love to hear from you.
God be with you and your family at this difficult time....and bless your heart in the days ahead.
Love, Sandy (you know the one)

My deepest sympathy to you and all the family. I will always remember him with his John Deere hat and how he liked the chugging sound of the old combine machine.
Your old neighbor and friend.

I was lucky enough to know Brad since 1970. I was a police officer for Upper Arlington at the time and a member of their pistol team. In 1973 I entered the Columbus Academy and Brad was the Ordnance Sgt. I always wanted to be the kind of supervisor that Brad was. Fair, willing to teach, and fun to be around.
We shared several things in common. We were both Marines, loved to competition shoot, we were both life members of the Honor Guard, and both VERY proud to have served with the Columbus Divison of Police.
Brad loved this country, he loved his family, especially his lovely wife Pat, and he loved life. The world is a sadder place without him, but he DOES live on in all of us that had the honor of having him in our lives as a role model and specially as a friend. Watch over us Brad and guide us in our daily lives that we may glorify you and all that you gave to us.

You have my sincere sympathy for your loss.
I served with Brad on the staff of the Columbus Police Academy. He was one of the "good guys"; ever quick with a word of encouragement or a bit of humor.
I am sure that as you grieve for him, there is also a smile in your heart celebrating the time that the world, and you, had him.
May God bless you in your time of sadness.
