David L. Roese

ROESE David L. Roese, age 79, of Ashville, OH, died Thursday, October 28, 2010, at his residence. Dave was born in South Bloomfield, OH, on May 29, 1931, the son of Nellie (Shonkwiler) and Ira Roese. He started working at Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service in 1954 retiring as Personnel Manager in 1994. Dave was a member of Good Shepherd Community Church, one of the founding members of BATS (Berliner Action Team for Softball) and was inducted into Columbus Slowpitch Softball Hall of Fame for meritorious service. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Nancy A. (Masters) Roese on December 9, 1989, and his siblings Charlotte Sheldon, Jarold Roese, and Frank "Bill" Roese. Dave is survived by his wife, J-Anne Reynolds Roese; his children, Deborah (Monty) Dixon, Becky (Jim) Rains, David Roese; and friend, Jacque Shirk, and Brian (Kelly) Roese; grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Dixon, Danielle (Clancey) Sweeney, Hannah Roese, Benjamin Roese, Emily Roese, and Jared Roese; great-grandchildren, Brynn and Colin Sweeney; nieces and nephews, Connie (Ron) McMullen, Danny (Ruth) Roese, and Michael (Sonja) Roese. Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2010, at Good Shepherd Community Church, 210 Obetz Rd, Columbus, OH 43207. Dr. William L. Snider and Pastor Steven P. Snider will officiate. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2010, at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, and one hour prior to the service at church.
