ALT William Ralph Alt, 79, of London, died Friday, April 8, 2011, 12:45 p.m. at the Madison House, London, Ohio. Mr. Alt was born July 31, 1931 in Putnam County, Ohio, a son of Henry Francis and Luella Mary (Ricker) Alt. He was a member of Saint Patrick Church, London. Was a former member of Saint Matthew Church, Gahanna and Saint Michael Church, Findlay. He was 3rd degree and lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Saint Michael Parish. He had been employed by the Vigoro Inc. Industries, Findlay, and had been office manager with the WR Grace Company, Gahanna for 32 years. He loved to work in the garden and was an avid woodworker. Mr. Alt is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy Alice (Philpot) Alt; children, Kathy J. (Brad) Roynon of Findlay, Douglas A. (Susan) Alt of West Jefferson, Cynthia M. (Steve) Bostwick of Cincinnati; brothers and sisters, Viola Topp of Leipsic, John Alt of Saline, Michigan, Ghnelda Schimmoeller of Fort Jennings, Ohio, Bernard (Dorothy) Alt of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Robert (Carolyn) Alt of Leipsic, Kenneth (Sandy) Alt of Temperance, Michigan; grandchildren, Taylor, Mallory, and Westley Roynon, Daniel and Justin Alt, Ariana, Vaughn, Natasha, and Vera Bostwick. Numerous nieces and nephews and many many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard and Daniel, grandson Brian Roynon, stepsister Frances Alt. The family invites friends to call at the Saint Patrick Church Parish Center, 61 S. Union St., London, Monday from 5-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated there Tuesday, 11 a.m., with Father Mark Ghiloni officiating. Mr. Alt will lie in State at the parish center for one hour prior to the start of the service Tuesday. Interment service will be held at the Saint Mary Cemetery, Leipsic, Ohio, 4 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Alt's funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the RADER-LYNCH AND DODDS FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. High St., London. Memorial contributions may be made, in Mr. Alt's memory, to the or to Saint Patrick Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
