NIX James Nix, 67, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force; served in the Conflict in the Congo where he was attached to the United Nations; and in the US Navy aboard the USS America in the Gulf of Tonkin in Vietnam. James was a member of the FOE 3261, Reynoldsburg; past member of State Color Guard at Reynoldsburg VFW Post9473; Seam Squirrel of the Cooties and Past Commander of Whitehall VFW 8794; life member at Buckeye Lake VFW Post1388 where he served as Quarter Master for four years. As of April 21, 2011 he became an Honorary Member of Reynoldsburg VFW post 9473. He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Mildred and sisters Mayme Lou, Patricia Lane, and Roberta Buffington. James is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Terri (Cleave) Griffin, Allen (Robyn) Nix and, Dana (Nick) Delaney; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Nellie Wicker; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at COTNER FUNERAL HOME 7369 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg where the funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Dr. Barry Walker officiating.
