HURST Carol Mae (Weisenstine) Hurst, born October 13, 1940 to the late Loren and Ruth (Long) Weisentine. Went home to be with the Lord on August 1, 2011. Carol is survived by one sister, Ruth Ann Robbins (Allen) Hewitt; three daughters, Cheryl (Harold) Sharrock, Renee Wallace, and Robin (Bill) Baisden; seven grandchildren, John (Abi) Goldfarb, Danielle Goldfarb, Billy (Mandy) Baisden, Tiffany (IKE) Snow, Grant Martin, Chris Hurst and Joshua Baisden; nine great-grandchildren; two nieces, two nephews, many cousins and a host of true friends that loved and respected her. Retired from JC Penney with over 30 years of service. Founding member of the secret sister. Mom had few things that she enjoyed; First and foremost she loved the Lord and enjoyed hearing the gospel preached. She loved her daughters and grandchildren very much. She and great-granddaughter Makalya had a special bound. Mom would talk for hours about the time they would spend together. She enjoyed Quilting; it was her way of getting away from of all her cares and troubles, she would often say that was a time when nothing would bother her. She and Aunt Ruth would take road trips for quilting classes this was something that she loved, Being with Aunt Ruth help fill the void of losing Grandma. The day before she went home to be with Lord she told us I am ready go and want to go, I'm just waiting on the Lord to come and get me. Carol had a very hard life but her faith in God stayed strong, no one knows how much she suffered in this life before and during her illness. Thank The Good Lord for calling her home; she is finally at peace, something that she had been seeking for years. To all her friends and Family who where not permitted to attend the Funeral arranged by Ronald L Hurst and Vickie Hurst Wells. We would like to invite you to a celebration of Carol's life at the Crossroads United Baptist Church on Sunday, August 21 from 5-8 p.m. A special service will be held at 7 p.m. with Her Pastor, Brother Mike Nichols.
