SCHMIDT Bernard J. "Bernie" Schmidt, age 81, of Fairfield Beach Buckeye Lake, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Graduate of Holy Family High School. WWII and Korean U.S. Air Force Veteran. Retired from the United Postal Service. He was preceded in death by parents Leo L. and Anna M. Bahen Schmidt, wife Betty Friebis, son Karl, and daughter Venita, siblings Virginia Shaw, John L. "Jack", Robert "Bob" and Mary K. "Kitty" Hennosy. Survived by four sons, two daughters, two daughters-in-law and one son-in-law, Eric of Fayetteville, NC, Leo (Beth) of Columbus, Dr. Otto (Marcia) of Brecksville, Kurt (Carlos) of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Helena (Robert) Zvansky of Sunbury, and Katrina Schmidt of Columbus; 11 grandchildren, Nichole, Andrea, Chelsea, Natasha, Eric, Allison, Lindsay, Brittney, Kyle, Courtney, and Danielle; siblings and sister-in-law, Rosemary VanGundy, Kenneth (Ruby) Schmidt, and Paula McAllister; numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 S. High St., on Saturday, September 17th, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., prayers will be said at 7:15 p.m. Catholic Memorial Mass will be held Sunday, September 18 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 584 W.
