Collin and Brenda -- I only knew David from Mourning Glory Band dates in Cleveland but he was so full of energy and always smiling, always so nice of him to take the time to talk with me. When I heard what happened, I thought first of Collin (both my father and my husband lost their Dads when they were young)and wanted to tell Collin this -- I'm so glad you saw your Dad playing with the band, something that made him so happy, I'm sure -- Collin, your Dad will always be with you when you remember him and talk about him....I felt like I knew my father's father just from all the things my father told me about him over the years. If you talk about him, you keep him alive.

To the Chakeres Family,
I am so sorry and very sad to hear about David's passing. It's been many years since I had seen him. His mom and my mom were first cousins which would make David and I third cousins. When I was younger he used to always call me "Martha" for some reason instead of Mary. I remember David being such a kind hearted and a nice person with a fun sense of humor just like his mom. She used to make my mom laugh when they visited each other. The picture above reminds me of her. I will pray that God will fill your grieving hearts with peace, love and comfort...

I'm so srry to hear of your loss.My thoughts & prayers are with you. I still think of David whenever I remember any Squeo family get togethers. It was always an event when he arrived. He inspired all his younger "cousins", & showed us a path to success & happiness.

Brenda, I am so sorry that I could not be with you during the funeral. What a shock to hear of David's passing. The few times that I was with David, he was always so happy. I cannot express how sad and shocked I am at David’s passing. Being only four years older than me, I remember when he was in college to become an attorney and Donnie, in college to become a doctor. Chakeres Food Fixture was going strong. “The Camelot Years”, as David referred to them. My deepest condolences go to Donnie, David’s wife and son, as well as the rest of the family and extended family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to David's family. David was our next door neighbor growing up. I saw him a few years ago at a UA HS football game. I am shocked and saddened by his passing. He was a wonderful person and will be missed.

Brenda, I worked with David the past several years as his paralegal. Even though you and I never met, I almost felt as though I knew you. David just lit up when he talked about you. I can remember the excitement in his voice when you two were married. I can't imagine the grief and sorrow you and your family must be experiencing right now and my heart goes out to you. He was such a kind soul.

Mourning Glory band is truly in mourning. We will always remember your love of the Rolling Stones songs, and the way you jumped up and down on stage as you played them. You will be reembered and missed at eveery performance. May you rest in peace now.

Don, during our teen years at the church, I have a lot of good music memory's of David's personality and many conversations that we shared as young friends . I always enjoyed talking with David. He inspired me to take up guitar to go along with my signing too...May God bless his journey and I know his memory will live within all of us forever.
