BEALS George Beals. Born May 26, 1923 in Blacklick, Ohio. Grew up on near North end of Columbus around Goodale Park. Graduated from Central High School, Class of 1942. Drafted into the Army in 1943. Attained rank of Sergeant in the 44th Infantry Division, 324 Infantry regiment, I Company. Shipped out to France in WWII in September 1944. Wounded by Schrapnel in December, 1944 near Waldhambach, France. Awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Worked for Retail Merchants Delivery for 29 years. Long time resident of Clintonville and Sunrise Of Worthington. Member of Beechwold Christian Church. Married Violet Baughman, March 2, 1945. Wife passed into a better place on February 16, 1995. Survived by daughter, Belinda Shaw of Orient, Ohio; son, Gary Beals of Concord, NC; sister, Janice Kinley of Columbus; grand-son, Andy Shaw of Orient and Brittany Page of Elizabethtown, Ky Family will receive friends Sunday 3-5 p.m. at THE SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOMES CLINTONVILLE CHAPEL, 4341 N. High St., where funeral service will be held Monday 11 a.m. Interment Jefferson Cemetery. Pastor Patrick Mauger officiating.
