Judy and family, deepest sympathy on your loss. Many years have passed since my family lived next door to your family on Beaver Ave. Good neighbors were gone when you moved.

I have known Mr. Shade since I was around the age of 5. I have always respected Mr. Shade and will never forget how he changed my life - I saw my first COLOR TV in their home as a child, thank for that wonderful experience watching "Walt Disney's Wonderful World Of Color". A great man, a true inspiration and a kind and thoughtful person. I will miss him.

I arrived on the Capital campus one year after Gene after also serving in the U.S. Navy at the end of WWII. In my very first class--Hilmar Grimm's American History course--I sat down in the front row next to the very pretty Judy Ferguson and we maintained that seating arrangement for the remainder of the year. Judy, I'm sorry for your loss. I met my wife, Mickee, at Capital, and we have now been married nearly 59 years. We both hope that we can continue that relationship at least as long as yours with Gene. Dick Boyd
