KIRK Irene S. Kirk, age 85, of Hilliard, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 24, 1926 to the late Anthony and Sophie (Koenig) Fifer. Irene retired from Sears in 1991 after 21 years of dedicated service. She also volunteered for Fore Hope Handicap Golf for over 20 years. Irene was a long time member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Walter Fifer. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Duncan A. Kirk; daughter, Debbie (Tom Rook) Kirk Maynard; son, Scott (Kimberly) Kirk; grandchildren, Brooke (Nick) Maynard Linz, Heather (Nick) Maynard Wunder, Tiffany Kirk, Cameron Kirk, and Mackenzie Kirk; sisters, Frieda Morrison and Doris (Bob) Vargo; and several nieces and nephews. Special thank you to Mill Run Gardens and Care Center, HomeWell, and Amity Home Care for all of their care and support. Friends may call on Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. with prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 434 Norton Road, Columbus, Ohio 43228. Fr. Leo Connolly, celebrant. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Hilliard, Ohio. Contributions in Irene's memory may be made to Fore Hope, 1169 Dublin Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43215 or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 2225 Citygate Dr., Ste E, Columbus, Ohio 43219.
