Irwin Bauman

BAUMAN Irwin Bauman, 89, went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2012. He was born July 24th, 1923 in Columbus, OH to John Charles and Victoria A. (Trapp) Bauman. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years Anita (Simmers), his parents and sister Dorothy. Irwin is survived by his children, John (Vera) of Parma, Joan (John) McLaughlin of Pickerington, Margaret of Reynoldsburg, Joe (Becky) of Pataskala and Mike (Donna) of Reynoldsburg; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren along with his sisters, Bernadine Bauman and Sister Clara Bauman, OP; and his brother-in-law, Richard (Marion) Simmers. Irwin drove a school bus for St. Pius X School for three years and the Reynoldsburg City School District for 27 years and farmed his entire life raising crops, cattle and hogs. His greatest joy came from spending time with and helping his family, friends, and neighbors. His faith and family were the most important things in his life and they were foremost in his heart. His family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the nursing staff at Mt. Carmel East Hospital for their care and dedication. His family will receive friends on Monday, August 6, 2012 at COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, OH,from 4-8 p.m. with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1051 Waggoner Rd with Msgr. David Funk officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
