DiCESARE Mario DiCesare, age 75, passed away peacefully August 30, 2012. He was born June 1, 1937 in Introdacqua, Italy to the late Panfilo and Aldovina DiCesare. Mario immigrated to the United States in 1957 where he first worked as a home builder. He later went to work for the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department and retired after 27 years of service. Mario was a very handy man and willing to help anyone with his skilled hands. He was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church. Mario is survived by his loving wife, of 51 years, Lena; daughter, Lena (Todd) Sladoje; son, Mario (Tina) DiCesare Jr; grandchildren, Christopher and Nicole, Sladoje and Michael and Matthew, DiCesare; sister, Giovanna Valenza; and many other family and friends here and back in Italy. Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2012 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43229. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43224, Fr. James T. Smith, Celebrant. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery.
