BENNINGTON Roger E. Bennington, age 78, of Circleville, died October 5, 2012 at his residence. He was born June 24, 1934 in Highland County, Ohio, to the late Ralph and Delorice Bennington. A 1952 graduate of Circleville High School, Roger served in the Army in Korea. He graduated from the Ohio State University in 1959 with a degree in Physical Education. Roger taught school and coached baseball and basketball in Columbus prior to returning to Ohio State where he received a Juris Doctor degree in 1964. Roger was a practicing attorney in Circleville for 48 years, and was proud that both of his sons followed in his footsteps and became attorneys. Roger served for many years as a Board Member of the Pickaway County District Library. He was a charter member of the Circleville Sertoma Club. He served as a director of the United Way, and was a member of the Community United Methodist Church, Pickaway County Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, and American Bar Association. Roger loved all aspects of sports, as a participant, coach, and spectator. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Barbara Bennington. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judith (Hosler); sons, Jeff (Trina) of Circleville and Kevin (Nicole) of Circleville; grandchildren, Ella and Kelton; step-grandchildren, Lyndsay and Bethany Stranges; brother, Ron, of Canton; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 12, 2012 at DEFENBAUGH-WISE-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Barry Burns officiating.
