BEEBE David K. Beebe, 67, of Upper Arlington, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012. He was born August 11, 1945 in Zanesville and was a graduate of Zanesville H.S. David received his undergraduate degree from Ohio University, graduate degree from The Ohio State University, and his law degree from Capital University. He worked in Trust advisory services at BancOhio which later became National City for 30 years, and stopped working as vice president of the National City Private Client Group in 2000 due to health issues associated with his arthritis. He fought the debilitating effects of arthritis with courage, grace and humor. He dedicated much of his time to helping others with arthritis through the Arthritis Foundation where he was on the board for many years and briefly served as board president. The Arthritis Foundation honored his contributions by awarding him with the National Volunteer Service award and the Jerry Walsh Courage award. David was a trusted advisor to many clients and well-respected and admired by his professional colleagues. He received the Odysseus Award for Philanthropy from the Waller Financial Planning Group. He provided leadership and direction as a longtime member of the Columbus Estate Planning Group II. David's Christian faith was extremely important to him and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a member of Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio, Columbus Bar Association, the Shriners, the Columbus Athletic Club, and was recently accepted as a member of the Son's of the American Revolution. He was an avid antique collector, history buff, and enjoyed gardening. David had the gift of hospitality and a good sense of humor. He will be missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. Preceded in death by his father Robert Beebe. David will be missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Carolyn; daughter, Diane (Sun-Jan) Huang; a grandchild on the way; dear mother, Grace Beebe; brother, Daniel (Kris) Beebe; sister-in-law, Kathleen (James) Bowser; and nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH 43221. The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 12Noon at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2001 Northwest Blvd., Columbus, OH. Rev. Steve Wachtman, officiating. Interment immediately following the funeral service will be in Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend. Carolyn......I'm so very sorry for your loss. I remember when we taught together at Shady Lane Elementary how proud you were of David and all his accomplishments and rightly so. But you were the rock that helped David be successful.

It is with great sadness that I learned of David's passing. I worked with David for many years on the Board of Directors of the Arthritis Foundation. I greatly enjoyed and appreciated David's advice, courage, and sense of humor as he helped to guide the Foundation in its mission to find a cure for arthritis.
