CROSS Arthur D. Cross, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 18, 2012 with the knowledge that he was deeply loved by family and friends. Born November 16, 1926 in Boulder, Colorado to the late Arthur and Gertrude Cross, he grew up in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and never lost his love or appreciation for their awesome beauty. He received BA and MA degrees from the University of Colorado and served in the Navy in World War II and the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents and Dorothy Writer Cross, the love of his life and wife of 56 years. He was a devoted and loyal husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend who overcame addiction to alcohol and worked tirelessly to help others to do the same. He was an active member of St. Christopher´s Episcopal Church and actively served on the Board of Directors of Fairbanks Hospital. He had a successful career in sales and marketing with General Electric, and retired from the company in 1986 to pursue broad interests. He was a lifelong learner, an avid bike rider, an accomplished swimmer, and a world traveler who treasured nothing more than being surrounded by his loving family. Survivors include his brother, Richard J. Cross; four children, Geoffrey (wife, Jocelyne) Cross, Mary (husband, Russ) Cunningham, Kathleen (husband, Paul) Miller, and Thomas (wife, Janet) Cross; and eight grandchildren, Michael Miller, Kristen (husband, Jim) Burke, Pascale Cross, Isabelle Cross, Sarah Miller, Russell Cunningham, Elizabeth Cross, and Katherine Cross. The celebration of Arthur´s life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 30 at St. Christopher´s Episcopal Church. A brief reception will be held at the church immediately following the service. Interment will take place in Boulder, Colorado at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Christopher´s Episcopal Church, Carmel, Indiana or Fairbanks Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana.
