WALKER Joe W. Walker, age 93, died December 5, 2012. He was born July 7, 1919 in Deshler, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years Ruth (Baxter), sister Mildred Adams and brother George Walker. He is survived by son, Steven (Jenny); daughters, Nancy (Larry Gerbetz) and Wanda (Craig LaFollette); grandchildren, Scott (Kelsey), Jessica (Roger Sandoval), Chris and Andrew Gerbetz, Mandy Walker-LaFollette; great-grandchildren, Ella Grace Walker, Evelyn and Camille Sandoval. Joe was a graduate of The Ohio State University and a Veteran U.S. Army, WWII. Joe was well known for forty years in the coal industry, Red Jacket Coal Corp., Sunday Creek Coal Corp., and his own company, N & W Sales Company. Joe was also involved in the commercial trucking business, Walker Trucking and Kings HiWay Company. He had a wide range of interests, including little league baseball, Boy Scouts, golfing, farming, gardening and traveling. Joe was also involved in volunteering for many years at food pantries, especially Near Northside Emergency Material Assistance Program (NNEMAP). He was a member of Sanibel Island Community Church. Private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to NNEMAP Food Pantry, 1064 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43201.
