FINN James Edwin Finn, age 57, a 28-year Dublin resident, died on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Kobacker House. Jim was born in Cincinnati, OH to James Joseph Finn and Mildred Connor Finn. Jim was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his wife of 35 years, Leslie Engle Finn; sons, Michael (Emily; grandson due February 2013) of Peachtree Corners, GA and Patrick (Carrie; granddaughter, Erin) of Johns Creek, GA. Also surviving are his mother, Mildred; brothers, Robert, Phil (Marilyn) and John (Beth) as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim graduated from St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati in 1973 and from The Ohio State University in 1977 with a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management & Insurance. Jim began his career in insurance at The Hartford and moved into brokerage with Marsh & McLennan, where he worked for 25 years. Most recently, he was Managing Director for Aon Risk Services for nearly nine years. Giving back to the community was a way of life for Jim. He served on the boards of Opera Columbus and City Year Columbus and was a board member and volunteer for the Arthritis Foundation, Central Ohio Chapter, where he received the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award. He was also a board member and longtime volunteer for the Dublin Irish Festival, for which he and Leslie were selected to serve as the 2011 Honorary Chairs. Jim also had a lifelong passion for golf. He received a scholarship from the Western Golf Association's Evans Scholars Foundation to attend OSU and was a longtime member of Brookside Golf & Country Club. Jim was a parishioner of ST. BRIGID OF KILDARE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7179 Avery Road, Dublin, OH 43017 where family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. THURSDAY and where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 28, 2012 with The Reverend Monsignor Joseph M. Hendricks, Celebrant. Burial will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, OH. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Jim's memory to any of the following organizations: Evans Scholars Foundation; Ohio Health Foundation/Kobacker House; or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, 450 W.
