MILLER Betty L. Miller (Manson), age 89 1/2, passed away on December 23, 2012. She was born on June 13, 1923 in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of the late Raymond L. and Adah (Jackson) Manson. She was a graduate of Piqua Central High School, class of 1942. She was married to John (Jack) E. Miller on November 19, 1944. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1989 in Evansville, Indiana. Betty was into her fifteenth year with the Springfield Ohio Bureau of Employment Security when her husband was transferred by his employer to Evansville, Indiana in January 1971. While in Evansville, Betty was employed over thirteen years with the Indiana Employment Security Division. They were members of the Eastminster Presbyterian Church. The last two years she lived in Evansville, she volunteered with the American Cancer Society on blood drives and with the American Red Cross. She moved back to Springfield, Ohio in May, 1991, and began volunteering for Mercy Medical Center, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a volunteer there 14 years. She was a member of the Northminster Presbyterian Church. Betty loved to bake cookies, pies and cakes as well as her homemade noodles for her families. She always felt very blessed to have her two wonderful sons, Jon and Craig. She loved playing euchre and working crossword puzzles. She is survived by her sons, Jon M. (Trudy) Miller of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Craig L. (Vicki) Miller of Hilliard, Ohio; sisters, Rosalie Apple of Dayton, Ohio and Mary Lou Dean of Augusta, Georgia; and her brother, Raymond J. Manson of Celina, Ohio; seven grandchildren all in Ohio, Jonelle Dalbenzio, Dublin, Jeremy Miller, Columbus, Lona Houpt, Dayton, Erin Cardillo, Westerville, Evan Miller, Hilliard, Travis Myer and Tia Factor of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; eleven great grandchildren, Skylar, Summer, Andrew, Gabriella, Madison, Olivia, Sophia, Harry V, Nina, Cody and Elijah. Also survived by a niece and several nephews. Two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law preceded her in death. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, 830 N. Limestone Street, Springfield, Ohio. Funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Dwight McCormick II of Northminster Presbyterian Church officiating. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Fletcher Cemetery in Fletcher, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Betty's name to the Second Harvest Food Bank, 701 East Columbia Street, Springfield, Ohio 45503.
