MEREDITH Mother Mary Ellen Meredith, an incredible woman of God, was born on October 6, 1922 in Ramer, TN. She was called to eternal rest on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Rehab and Healthcare Center of Gahanna. Member of Meredith Temple Church of God In Christ (C.O.G.I.C.). Jurisdictional Supervisor Emeritus - Women's Department. Served the C.O.G.I.C. in numerous national, state, district and local capacities. Graduated from the Ohio State University and later taught English at Florida A & M. Retired from the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services after 32 years of service. Mother Meredith was preceded in death by her parents Alcie and Douglas Meredith, brothers Edward Douglas, Joseph Martin and Hezekiah Meredith. Left to cherish her memory are her nieces and nephews, Maryellen (Howard) Crockett, Edward (Debbie), Gloria Bradford, Rena (Quentin) Elliott, William (Stephanie) Meredith and James; sister-in-law, Jewel Meredith; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, godchildren, special daughters and sons, as well as her church family. Family will receive friends Friday, January 25, 2013, at Meredith Temple C.O.G.I.C., 1158 Mt. Vernon Ave., Columbus, OH 43203. Pastor William A. Meredith. Viewing and Visitation at 6 p.m., followed by the Memorial Service at 7 p.m. The Home Going Celebration for Mother Mary E. Meredith will be held 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church, 858 E. Third Ave., Columbus, OH 43201. Bishop David L. Herron, Sr., Eulogist.
