Winters Charles William Winters, age 85, passed away suddenly at his residence on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. He was born in Reynoldsburg, OH on May 8, 1927, as son to the late Herbert Joseph Winters and Mary (Dempsey) Winters. He was a graduate of Aquinas High School where he was a member of the All City High School Basketball Team. He received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University with a full golf scholarship. He received his J.D. Law Degree from Capital University and began practicing law in 1953 and was still a practicing attorney. He was owner of Winterland Title. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1946 as Seaman 1st Class. He was an avid golfer and former president of the Columbus Golf Association and member of their Hall of Fame. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years, Pauline Jones Hendricks Winters, his sisters Gertrude Alberta Winters (Sr. Mary Judith, O.S.F.), Louise (Winters) Derrer, Helen Theresa Winters (Sr. Bernard Marie, Dominican Sister of the Poor), Mary Joycelyn (Winters) Frey, Alberta Gertrude Winters (Sr. M. Bernadine), brothers Herbert Richard Winters, Albert John Winters and John Paul Winters. Charlie is survived by his 2nd wife, Kimberly Baker; his son, Charles William Winters II; his two daughters, Charlene Marie (Winters) Wade and Beverly Ann (Winters) Roberts and her husband, Pete; two step-sons, Roberts R. Hendricks and his wife, Mary and George C. Hendricks and his wife, Charlotte, both of Erie, PA; sister, Elizabeth Winters Sulick Haslett; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL, 4019 East Livingston Avenue.
