Racle Dr. Fred A. Racle, Professor Emeritus, born in Columbus Ohio on December 16, 1932, of Pickerington, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 5, 2013. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 33 years, Jo Ann (Elkins), their infant son Edward Arnold Racle, his father Arnold A. Racle, his mother Dorothy I. Racle (Holts), and his sister Clara M. Voss (Wolfe). He is survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and special friends. Fred served our country in the 8044th Army Unit as a Medical Specialist in the Korean War. In 1965 Fred received his Doctorate in Biological Sciences from The Ohio State University. He retired as a Professor Emeritus in the Natural Sciences Department at Michigan State University in 1990. Fred was an avid outdoorsman, golfer and author. He enjoyed writing and illustrating books for his family and friends. Fred was an active member of the Epiphany Lutheran Church in Pickerington. The family wishes to thank the staff at Wesley Ridge (Bishop Place and Park Side) for their care. Friends may visit 10-11 a.m. Monday at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 268 N. Hill Road North, Pickerington OH 43147, where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME.
