Kenneth Conkle Obituary

Conkle Kenneth Roy "Dick" Conkle, 80, of Etna, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on March 18, 2013. Born March 30, 1932 to the late Luther and Louella (Mason) Conkle, in Pickerington. Dick served as an Army Corporal in the 406th Engineering Battalion during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Etna United Methodist Church. Dick graduated from Etna High School in 1950 and is retired from the former Snider General Construction Company of Pataskala. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Leora (Crawford) Conkle; sons, Mark (Christie) Conkle and Scott (Vikki) Conkle; brother, Ray (Charlotte) Conkle; sisters, Betty (Chester) Chapman and Norma (Homer Prouty) Dalton; grandchildren, Nick, Danielle (Conan), Ashley, and Krista; step-grandchildren, Lauren, Erin, and Adam. In addition to his parents, Dick's sister Dorothy Ellison, precedes in death. A memorial service will be held SATURDAY, April 6, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at the Etna United Methodist Church, 500 Pike St, Etna, Oh. 43018, with Rev. Chip Koch officiating. Friends may call 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dick's memory to the Etna United Methodist Church or Hospice of Central Ohio.
