Secrest Earl H. Secrest, age 94 of Columbus, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Sunrise at the Scioto. Retired from Columbus Coated Fabrics after 43 years of service, and he was a WWII US Army Veteran serving in the South Pacific as a Sergeant Major. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Secrest. His survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Tamira and Kevin Michael, and Janet and Doug Jones; granddaughter, Becky Jones; great-grand-daughter, Emily Jones; niece, Sally Knott. Earl was a member of Holy Trinity Church E.L.C.; York Lodge #563, F. & A.M. and V.F.W. Post #10873. A funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, OH 43085, where friends may call from 5 p.m. until service time. A private family interment will be held in Blendon Central Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to HomeReach Hospice, c/o Ohio Health Foundation, 180 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43215. The family would like to express their heart-felt Thanks to the staff of Sunrise at the Scioto, and also HomeReach Hospice, especially, Elvina, Sue, Hillary, Faith, and David.
