Obituary Condolences

Schoning Lois (Gilbert) Schoning, 76 years old, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, formerly of Ravenna, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. She was born on August 13, 1936 in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Raymond and Genevieve (Gilbert) Linton. She graduated from Ravenna Township High School, attended Boheckers Business College and had been employed at the Portage County Clerk of Courts, City of Ravenna Water Office, and Rootstown Board of Education. After moving to Columbus she was employed at Anthem Life Insurance and Dr. Jeffrey Schoning's Dental Office. She was a former member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Ravenna and after moving to the Columbus area was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church, Worthington, Ohio. She leaves sons, Herb Schoning of Hilliard, OH., Jeff (Jenny) Schoning of Upper Arlington, OH., and Mark Schoning of Raleigh, N.C. She also leaves her grandsons, Alex Schoning, Gregory Schoning, Nick (Katie) Schoning, Andrew Schoning and Jack Schoning who were very special to her; sister, LaFond (Jerry) Giulitto of Ravenna; and brothers, Jack Gilbert of Titusville, PA., Jerry (Linda) Gilbert of Cochranton, PA. and Jim (Fran) Gilbert of Ravenna. Her most enjoyable and happiest times were being together with all of her family and friends. Friends will be received at the WOOD-KORTRIGHT-BORKOSKI FUNERAL HOME, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, 330-296-6436, on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Dan Caruso will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 170 N. Freedom St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
