Marks Robert "Bob" Thalman Marks, age 85 of Hilliard, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 surrounded by family and friends at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born September 26, 1927 in Bridgeport, CT, the only child of Milton and Caroline Marks. Preceded in death by his parents and infant son John Milton Marks. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Agnes (Korbel); son, Robert Marks; daughters, Elaine (John) Hellwege and Ann Marks, grandchildren, Grace and Levi Hellwege; as well as many relatives in the U.S. and Switzerland. Bob attended Wilson Junior College and Valparasio University. He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served 2 years in the U.S. Army at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. He retired from 28 years at Ranco Inc. He was an active member of ASHRAE and Purdue Alumni Assoc. Bob enjoyed many different sporting events, the Columbus Symphony and playing basketball at Dublin Recreation Center. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, May 31 at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. Hilliard, OH 43026 where a memorial service will take place at 7 p.m. Private inurnment will be held at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
