Clarence "Whitt" Whittington Obituary
Whittington Clarence "Whitt" Whittington, 88, of Columbus, entered into rest Sunday, June 30, 2013. He was born January 2, 1925 in Charleston, WV to the late Wilkes and Ida Mae Whittington. Clarence served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from 3M. Clarence enjoyed traveling and visiting with neighbors. He would give the shirt off his back and will be remembered for his great sense on humor. He was a loving and caring person and will be truly missed. In addition to his parents Clarence was preceded in death by his brothers Ernest and Charles, sisters Carrie Forshee and Helen Blessing. Clarence will be missed by his loving wife, Katherine; sisters, Emma Lee Quarles and Ida Mae Whittington; nieces and nephews; and Katherine's son, Mike Counts; and her grandchildren, Tonya Richmond, Little Kathy, Gino, Nate, and Tyler. Clarence's family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Heartland Hospice for the care shown to him. Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (Just south of I-270), where the funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Clarence's memory to Big Brothers/Big Sisters Assoc. of Columbus, 1855 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43229 or the American , 5455 N.
