Lee Lanlin Zhang Lee was a beautiful and loving person who was caring to both the people and animals she came across. She was born on 14 October 1981 in Nanjing, China. She graduated from Fudan University in 2003. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Material Science from The Ohio State University in 2007 and 2008 respectively. She went on to become a Senior Research Associate at The ElectroScience Laboratory at OSU. Lanlin was very proud of her research in textile antennas. Despite living 3 miles from each other and often working in the same building, she met her husband at an academic conference in Toronto, Canada. They were married on 2 September 2012 in Columbus, OH. She enjoyed running, spoiling her pets, and volunteering at the cat shelter. She ran her first marathon in May 2011. Lanlin passed away at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY on Monday, 15 July 2013 due to injuries sustained during a bike accident. Lanlin was competing in her first half ironman when the accident occurred and she hoped to someday finish a full Ironman triathlon. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Yi-chien Lee; her parents, Kangwu Zhang and Zhaodi Wang; her dog, Elmo; and her two cats, Maisy and Abbey.
