Hollenbeck-Holfinger Margaret (Peggy) Hollenbeck-Holfinger age 82 died at her home on Friday, July 26, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Peggy was born on December 29, 1930 in Dallas, TX to the late Mark J. Bauman and Edna (Fry) Bauman. She had fond memories growing up on Applegrove Road outside of North Canton, Ohio and graduated from Middlebranch High School in 1948. She subsequently earned a bachlors degree, and Master of Library Science from Kent State University. In 1951, she married Robert R. Holfinger and spent the majority of early adult life raising their four children. Later she worked outside the home in various capacities. Following the death of Robert in 1992, she divided her time between homes in Columbus, Ohio and New Symrna Beach, Florida. In 1994, she married Dr. Kenneth L. Hollenbeck, DDS who recently passed away on March 24, 2013. During her life she was active with the United Church of Christ Association including membership at Trinity UCC in Columbus, Ohio, and New Symrna Beach UCC. She was also very active in many other social and humanitarian organizations including a trip with former President Jimmy Carter to the Philippines for Habitat for Humanity. In 2010, she was presented a Life Time Achievement Award by the Columbus Chapter of the United Nations Association. She is survived by her children, Melissa (Marvin) Trickett of North Canton, Ohio, Dr. James (Diane) Holfinger of Brecksville, Ohio, Suzan Kapper, of North Canton, Ohio and Jean Blackstone, of Youngstown, Ohio; grandchildren, Dr. Mark Witt, Julie (Brian) Young, Steven Holfinger, Jennifer Holfinger, Shawn McLaughlin, Jamie (Melissa) McLaughlin. Jeremy (Meloney) Kapper, Thomas (T.J.) Blackstone; great-grandchildren, Lucas Witt, Gabriella McLaughlin, sisters, Joan (Bruce) Hagen, Kathy (Marvin) Kirby; several nieces and nephews and other relatives. In addition to her husbands she was preceded in death by her grandson Craig Kapper. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6 to 7:30 p. m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in the LONG FUNERAL HOME, 5528 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio where funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Dr. Norman Moxley and Rev. Ron Botts, officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Wednesday July 31, 2013 in North Lawn Cemetery, 4927 Cleveland Avenue NW, North Canton, . Rev. Gary Smith, presiding.
