Reed Barbara Ann (Murday) Reed, 78, of Delaware, passed away Sunday evening, August 4, 2013 at Grady Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 11, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio to David and Katherine (Brannon) Murday. She was a 1952 graduate of Linden McKinley High School and attended the Ohio State University for 2 years. She was a homemaker and caregiver to her grandchildren and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Delaware. She also was a member of the VFW Post #3297 Auxillary and Eagles Lodge #376 of Delaware and the Rakkasans 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team Association and was vice queen of the Foxy Ladies Red Hat Society. She enjoyed playing euchre, making crafts, and dancing. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael (Maria) Reed of Oxnard, California, Richard (Arlene) Reed of Delaware, James Reed of Chicago, Illinois, Holly (Jake Horlocker) Kauf, Cristine (George) Riedmiller, and Scott (Veronica) Reed, all of Delaware; nine grandchildren, Amber Baugher, Katherine (Justin) Ferguson, Jami and Regan Riedmiller, Spencer and Sydney Kauf, Jillian Reed, and Mitchel and Courtney Horlocker; two great grandchildren, Clinton Baugher and Karsen Ferguson; brother, David "Butch" (Laura) Murday; four sisters, Sharon (Steve) Baker, Jeanne (Harold) DeWeese, "Sis" Metzler and "Pip" (Jerry) Swart; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband James Milton Reed on March 4, 1988 and two brothers John Murday and Robert Brannon. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 8 from 5-8 p.m. at the SNYDER-RODMAN FUNERAL CENTER, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware and where funeral service will be held on Friday, August 9 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tim Chesser officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
