Shiblaq (James) Elizabeth Ann Shiblaq, age 78, passed away August 4, 2013 in Columbus, OH. Elizabeth was an award winning poet, art critic and a columnist for the Short North Gazette. She was a peace activist as well as a ballet instructor. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth and William Porter of Fostoria, OH. She is survived by her husband, Adnan Shiblaq; sons, Saladin, Omar; and granddaughter, Hannah, both of Alexandria, VA.; sisters, Christina Lewellyn and Sara Rinehart; and brothers, John and William Porter. Friends and family may call Friday, August 9, 2013 from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the WEIR-AREND FUNERAL HOME, 4221 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214 (3 blocks S. of Henderson Rd.). Graveside service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at Union Cemetery, 3349 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, OH 43202.
